Our accommodation in Corrie Cottages

Description

Our cottages are semi-detached and each has ample parking for two cars. The cottages are on an elevated site behind the owners' house and are reached by a tarred road. The cottages are double-glazed with an oil-fired central heating system.

Both cottages have two bedrooms and can sleep four people. All bedrooms measure 3m x3m and have built in wardrobes. In cottage 1 there is a bedroom with a double bed and a bedroom with two single-beds. In cottage 2 the bedrooms both have double-beds. All the furniture in the rooms was replaced for the 2010 season. Bed linen and towels can be supplied on request.

The kitchens have modern fitted units and each spacious enough for full size table and chairs and come fully equipped with crockery, glassware, cutlery, sharp cooks knives, pots & pans, toaster, kettle, fridge and washing machine. Cottage 2 has a built in microwave.

The shower room is fully tiled with WC, wash hand-basin and shower cubical with an electric shower.

Sitting room has been added onto the front of the cottages in the past few years and has ample seating for four people. There is a combination TV/DVD and freeview-sky-tv. There is also a radio/cassette/cd player but as the radio reception is patchy most folk listen to the radio channel through the tv.

All heating & electricity is included in the price. The rooms all have radiators that can be controlled independently. In the colder parts of the year the heating is on all day. In the summer months the heating will come on a set periods but this can always be changed if the weather turns inclement.

The cottages also have a good supply of historical, flora & fauna and walking books on Skye. There is also a local information pack to help you plan your days and as we live at the bottom of the hill and are both from Skye you can always pop down see us and we can hopefully help you.

Booking details and letting terms

The property (ies) is/are offered for self catering holidays on a weekly basis, usually Saturday to Saturday (5 p.m. on the day of arrival to 10 a.m. on the day of departure) subject to the following hiring terms and conditions.

  1. The receipt of a signed booking form and initial payment of 50% by the hirer is treated as a firm booking and, if accepted, the hirer becomes liable for the full balance of charges which are payable six weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday and eight weeks in the case of overseas bookings. If the booking falls within this period payment in full is requested. Non-payment of the balance/deposit of the hire charges within 5 days from verbal/email booking will result in the owner treating the property as being available for re-booking.
  2. If the hirer cancels a confirmed booking they remain liable for payment of the full cost of the holiday. Upon receipt of written confirmation of the cancellation from the hirer, the owner will endeavour to re-let the property and if successful will make a full refund to the hirer less an administration fee of £30 and any other expenses incurred in re-letting.
  3. The number of persons occupying a property must not exceed the maximum occupancy level of the property and this includes children. Owners reserve the right to terminate the occupancy of the property without notice or refund in the case of a breach of this condition. The hirer must be a member of the occupying party and at least one person must be over the age of 21.
  4. Non arrival by midday on the day following the hire start date will be deemed as a cancellation and no refund will be given. If arrival is to be after the entry time please phone ahead to advise us.
  5. The cottages will normally be available by 5pm however if by circumstances beyond our control this is not possible a full refund will be made with no further liability being accepted. If this is to be the case we will attempt to contact you before arrival.
  6. The hirer is responsible for the condition of the property and its entire contents during the hire period, fair wear and tear excepted. The hirer will make good any damage or loss and leave the property and contents in clean and tidy condition. The person held to be responsible for the hiring party will be the person who made the booking. While we do not usually require payment for broken crockery or glassware we would how-ever make a charge for damage to furnishings & fixings. While we take care to ensure that all the kitchen equipment is as clean as possible it is not always possible for us to inspect every item.
  7. Smoking is not permitted inside the properties.
  8. Owners reserve the right to refuse to hand over property to any person(s) who in their opinion is/are not suitable to take charge. In such cases hire charges shall be refunded in full and the liability of the owner shall cease. If the owners are prevented, because of circumstances outside their control (e.g. fire damage, drought, adverse weather or the interruption of utility supplies) from putting the property at the disposal of the hirer, the hire charges shall be refunded in full but the hirer will have no further claim against the owner. Again we will attempt to contact the hirer before the scheduled arrival time.
  9. Every effort is made to make the descriptions of our properties to be as accurate as possible however we reserve the right to make modifications in the interest of improvements. Occasionally legislation governing letting properties change and this may mean that we have to remove items that have been described in the property particulars.
  10. The owners reserve the right to enter the property at any reasonable time to affect any maintenance issue that may arise. The owner will accompany any tradesman involved if the hirer is not present.
  11. The price quoted at the time of booking is guaranteed not to increase. However, no refunds will be offered if prices are lowered or if any special offers are offered for the period of your booking in any of the other properties owned by Corrie Cottages or associated businesses.
  12. Complaints are to be made as soon as possible or within 7 days of the ending of let.
  13. The contract is effected between the hirer and the owner of the property is in terms of Schedule 4 Section 8 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988 and confers on the hirer the right to occupy the property for the period agreed for holiday purposes only.
